Spring season is upon us which can only mean one thing: sneaker season! Last spring, Converse sneakers were in style, but this spring is all about Vans. Vans have been seen around this school on both boys and girls. If you’re looking for a new spring shoe, go with Vans! Vans have a variety of different styles to choose from such as lip-on, low top, or high top. My personal favorites are the classic white slip-on Van sneakers. I wear my Vans every single day! Vans can be worn casually for everyday use, or one can use them for walks, exercise, or even wear them to family events/ special occasions. Not only are they extremely comfortable and long lasting, but they also come in every color imaginable. You can go with classic white, black, red, blue, and even checkered patterns! With so many different options to choose from, you just can't go wrong with these sneakers. Vans are mostly around the $50 range, which is pretty reasonable for a durable pair of spring sneakers. I would absolutely recommend visiting a Vans store, finding a shoe that fits your personal style, and purchasing them for a fair price.

ND: Is there anything about yourself that you would like to share or want other people to know particularly?

DS: Well, I think for the most part I really like to make myself available. I do spend an inordinate amount of time in my office getting work done that just needs to get done, and this prevents me from spending more time with the students and teachers. I hope that changes as we move forward. We do have a Director of Curriculum position that was recently filled and should be in place before the 19-20 school year begins. I believe once I have that person in place, I will have more time to meet with students and teachers. That's really important to me and it's not something I've had the opportunity to really do very well this year. I'd like people to know that I will make time for you. I absolutely love it when students come down here. While this position may seem distant and scary, I'm not distant and scary, and I'm happy to meet with people. I would like students and parents to know that I don’t make decisions lightly and that I always consult with other people first. I would never make a decision about anything that I wouldn't want for my own children. So, if it's about hiring a teacher, I want to hire a teacher that I would want to teach my children. And if we're offering a new course, I want to be excited about that course because I think it's a course that the students would want to take. I am always thinking about students.
