ALUMNI & F A C U LT Y Photo by Matthew Barrick Very Rev. Andriy Rabiy (MDiv ’02) was ordained Auxiliary Bishop for the Ukrainian Archeparchy of Philadelphia and titular bishop of Germaniciana. At 41, Bishop Rabiy is the youngest Catholic bishop of the United States, and one of the youngest in the world. The episcopal ordination took place on September 3 in St. George Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, in Bishop Rabiy’s hometown of Lviv. Dr. Dawn Eden Goldstein (MA ’10, STB ’13, STL ’14) has joined the faculty at Holy Apostles College & Seminary as an Assistant Professor of Dogmatic Theology. Fr. Thaddaeus Lancton, M.I.C. (MDiv, STB ’16), has released his first book, Stepping on the Serpent: The Journey of Trust with Mary. Fr. Lancton describes this journey of trust as the “project of his life,” saying, “Trust is that door which allows the Lord to enter into our hearts in the most difficult moments, in the most critical moments, and the most important moments. He enters into our hearts and transforms us.” Cardinal Donald Wuerl has named Dr. Jem Sullivan (faculty) as Secretary for Catholic Education for the Archdiocese of Washington. She will assist the teaching ministry of the archbishop through oversight and leadership of all educational efforts of the archdiocese. The Light of Christ: An Introduction to Catholicism, the newest book by Fr. Thomas Joseph White, O.P. (STL ’08, faculty), has been released by The Catholic University of America Press. Fr. White says of his book, “My goal is to make explicit in a few broad strokes the shape of Catholicism. I hope to outline its inherent intelligibility, or form, as a mystery that is at once visible and invisible, ancient and contemporary, mystical and reasonable.” Visit dhs.edu for more news and links to articles and interviews.
