(STB ’69, STL ’71), Adjunct Secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, gave the homily at Evensong on Candlemas Eve, before the consecration of Rev. Msgr. Steven J. Lopes as first bishop of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter. Fr. Peter John Cameron, O.P. (MDiv & STB ’85, STL ’87), editor-in-chief of Magnificat, gave the homily at the annual Mass of St. Thomas Aquinas at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Brill has published a new book by Dr. Robert J. Matava (MA ’05), Divine Causality and Human Free Choice: Domingo Báñez, Physical Premotion and the Controversy de Auxiliis Revisited, a study of the 16th-century Dominican/Jesuit grace controversy. Fr. Thomas Joseph White, O.P. (STL ’08, faculty), gave the St. Thomas Day lecture at Thomas Aquinas College, speaking on “How Does the Resurrection of Christ Illumine Human Reason? From Joseph Ratzinger to St. Thomas Aquinas.” Fr. Anthony Giambrone, O.P. (MDiv, STB ’06), has been assigned to the École Biblique. Fr. Jordan Schmidt, O.P. (STB ’09), recently participated in the École’s meeting of the “Young Dominican Biblical Scholars - The Bible in Jerusalem.” Ave Maria Press has published Remembering God’s Mercy: Redeem the Past and Free Yourself from Painful Memories, the latest book by Dawn Eden (MA ’10, STB ’13, STL ’14) Fr. Thomas Petri, O.P. (STL ’06, Vice President and Academic Dean), was interviewed for an article on the Ordinary Synod of Bishops on the Family by Edward Pentin of the National Catholic Reporter. Fr. Dominic Legge O.P. (MDiv ’06, STB ’07, STL ’08, faculty), spoke on “Martin Luther King Jr. and the Question of ‘Illegal Laws’: Civil Law, Justice, and Morality” for the University of Notre Dame’s Constitutional Studies program.
