EXPRESS JOY AND GRATITUDE AT GALA

As Wordsworth famously said, the happy
warrior is one:
Brewery ale certainly showcased our
school spirit.
“Who, if he be called upon to face / Some
awful moment in which Heaven has joined
/ Great issues, good or bad for human kind,
/ Is happy as a Lover and attired / With
sudden brightness like a man inspired.”
Who knew that such a studious group also
threw great parties?
Thanks to your support the Pontifical
Faculty has been educating “happy
warriors,” preachers who diligently
combat error with a “generous spirit,”
for over a century. Studying the truth is
serious business, especially so given our
nation’s increasingly secular tenor. At the
PFIC, however, there is an air of joy and
fraternity–and, it was on full display at the
spring Gala.
The Gala is a way for students, faculty,
and staff to express our gratitude to you.

Yet, it was not the hors d’oeuvres that drove
the record attendance, but something far
more nourishing: the chance to join the
PFIC in raising up another generation of
preachers and theologians to pass on the
saving truth of the Gospel.
While preaching to our world may sound
like a tall order, our study of Saint Thomas
Aquinas equips us with the intellectual
precision to understand and articulate
the truths of the Catholic faith. It is our
honor to serve the Church in this way,
and we are forever indebted for your
generous support.
