What exactly does
being resilient mean…
Resilience (noun) or
Resiliency (noun) Able
to recover quickly from
misfortune; able to
return to original form
after being bent,
compressed, or
stretched out of shape.
A human ability to
recover quickly from
disruptive change, or
misfortune without
being overwhelmed or
acting in dysfunctional
or harmful ways.
As a single mom of
three with three
different “baby
daddies,” resilient is like
my middle name. As a
woman who has had
her heart broken too
many times to count,
been homeless, jobless
and completely broken
resilient might just be
my first name. I’ve been
through misfortune,
bent, compressed,
stretched, had my life
disrupted, overwhelmed
and had a life full of
dysfunction, but I am
still standing, growing
and most importantly
THRIVING. The
number one question is:
How?
