severance, hope, or courage than knowing exactly what I am on earth for. On a sunny November Saturday in 2013, I heard the unmistakable voice of the Lord whisper gently to me, “I made you to give direction to those who feel worthless, to give hope to the hopeless, and to speak peace over the brokenhearted.” That moment, and those words gave me direction, and more hope than I can contain. It has been the adventure of a lifetime walking in that purpose, and time and time again, watching in awe as the Lord makes the impossible come to pass. So if you don’t already know, ask Him what he made you to do, spend time in His presence, in His Word, in prayer and in worship until you are confident you know what His will for your life is. Trust me you will be glad that you did! Some of the most highly respected members of our society are our doctors. In some of our hardest and most frightening circumstances, we seek their help and advice, and we quite literally trust them with our lives, and rightfully so. Doctors are individuals who have dedicated a huge portion of their time and energy to gaining a thorough understanding of the extremely complex functioning of the human body. They work tirelessly to ensure a healthy and happy life for each patient they serve. But how can their knowledge and expertise compare to that of the all-knowing creator of each and every human body? How can medicine compare to the power of Him who conquered sickness and death on the Cross? It is incredibly important to take the knowledge and guidance of doctors seriously. Whenever you need a miracle, it is time to start praying fervently and ask God for help. It would also be beneficial to call your pastor, your family, your friends, anyone who would be willing to pray for you, and ask them to intercede on your behalf. Ask them to lay their hands on you and pray for healing. Jesus made a promise to believers when they pray for the sick: “They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:18) No sickness is too great, too hopeless, too far gone for Jesus. Throughout His time on earth, He healed many people in hopeless situations. Not only did He heal those who were given a terminal report, also those who were already dead. He continued this work through his Apostles, and even today this power is moving throughout His Church, and is readily available to any follower of Christ. Take a look at how He raised a young girl from the dead: “They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. But he took her by the hand and said, ‘My child, get up!’ Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat.” (Luke 8:5355) Throughout your season of healing, it is so important to press in to the Lord, to earnestly seek his presence, and to hear his will and purposes for you. Be sure to obey any instruction you receive
