spect authority. Not every leader
will lead well or always treat others well. When Saul tried to kill
David I can only imagine what
David must have felt to have a
leader, king and mentor trying to
kill his potential. Yet, when David
had the opportunity to kill Saul
he chose not to take his life. He
respected his position of authority and trusted God. It was God
who put Saul in that position and
it would be God who would remove him. David wasn’t about
the fight because He understood
the fight belonged to God. He
was confident in what God had
promised him and every deci-
sion he made he kept that the
goal. When you respect authority you are saying you trust God
is in control. It is not based on
a leader’s behavior or treatment
but knowing that God knows
what He is doing. “It is God who
judges: He brings one down, he
exalts another.” Psalm 75:7
