how we view life. Currently, we
view life in terms of “the average
life span” which is eighty years,
so we end up never thinking past
this time frame and into eternity
which is where “forever” is. We
are driven by life here on earth,
but now what our life could be like
in Heaven, and that is where the
paradigm shift comes in: thinking not about life here, but what
our life in Heaven with God will
look like. John says that when
we recognise this, and change
our thinking, our lives will begin
to change, and so will our eternity.
In our interview, we asked John
how to minister to someone who
believes that they are simply too
old to change, or be saved. They
have given up on themselves,
and resigned themselves to defeat. Their answer is habitually,
“What’s the point?” John commented that we are never too old
to accept Christ in our lives, or
to do His will here on earth and
be eternity driven. Our destiny
begins here and now by the decisions we make, and will have
an effect on our eternity. By doing nothing, we are sealing our
fate. By doing even a little bit,
no matter what our age or how
much time you may or may not
have left, makes a difference in
your eternity in Heaven. God
will reward you.
We learned from John that he
is passionate about the local
church and its leaders. He enjoys equipping the church with
materials that will help it grow
and thrive. He believes it is the
most powerful way to disciple
the nations, and that hindrances
such as not enough money, location, etc should prevent the

church from being equipped to
share the gospel with others.
This is something that John is
very passionate about, and resonates throughout the globe.
In talking with John, you could
sense the presence of the Holy
Spirit. His book, Driven By Eternity, discusses not only your
eternity in Heaven, but is really
about a paradigm shift in our
thinking. It is about examining
what motivates us on a deeper
level, and what our motives really are. We can do things for
selfish reasons or for gain, but in
the end, it is God who knows our
heart. In the book, we are forced
to examine and face what is in
our heart. Is what we do on a
regular basis done as a part of

“good works” but lacks heart? Is
it self-driven? What would God
say about what we have done so
far?
I hope that to each one of you
God says, “Well done, good and
faithful servant!”.
