I read your article on “ True North ” and enjoyed it immensely . I like your attitude and determination as to not allow a temporary setback to alter the plan and purpose God has designed for your life . How can someone who has endured a long period of suffering apply these principles and yet hold on to their faith in God ? We all have a purpose , a calling or a vision ; gifts and talents that are uniquely ours to use . The bible says “ Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things unseen ”. This life is full of bumps in the road , which can be very discouraging and cause us to falter or doubt ourselves or even God . But if you are grounded in your purpose , faith will provide the endurance needed to keep going . It is said “ People with vision get there twice . Once in their minds and then in reality ”. Faith is a fuel that can sustain determination and the ability to get up and try again .

Can you elaborate in more details as to what this means for the Dove Awards and families ? This year we are building on the Better Together theme with the subtitle “ Love Amplified ”. John 13:35 says “ By this everyone will know that you are my disciples , if you love one another ”. This will set the atmosphere for us to show the value and importance of family , the church and our music community . As well as allow the world to see and feel the love of Christ .
There are so many gifted , talented and anointed artists in the Christian music industry . How is the selection of artists executed for the Dove Awards ? We have a selection committee that considers current artists that are making a national and global impact .

There are so many categories within the Dove Awards . Such as song of the year , new artist of the year , southern and traditional gospel , Rap / Hip Hop , children music album even praise and worship , just to name a few . Who came up with these categories and what is the age for someone to be considered to receive a Dove Award ? The Dove Award stage reflects Gods diverse kingdom . Christian / Gospel music is the only music that is determined by its message ; one message many different styles . There is a GMA Awards and Criteria committee that evaluates the categories annually to insure that each style is represented . There is no age limit .
Now , as the President and Executive Director of GMA , who determines who will host the Dove Award ? What qualifications does that individual have to possess in order to hold such a position ? As the producer of the Dove Awards I oversee committees made up of industry professionals who help to shape the event . A host has to be multifaceted ; a leader with a heart for and knowledge of our music community . They must be respected by their peers ; have high visibility in their genre and the unique talent to carry the responsibilities of the host position .
