Matthew 10 : 33 should be more of a fear to us than worrying about being reprimanded on this earth . “ But whosoever shall deny me before men , him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven .” 2 Timothy 2 : 12 : “ If we suffer , we shall also reign with him : if we deny him , he also will deny us .” This is another reason to fear the hand of God and what he can do more than the hand of man and what they can do . Hebrews 10 : 29 – 31 says : “ Of how much sorer punishment , suppose ye , shall he be thought worthy , who hath trodden underfoot the Son of God , and hath counted the blood of the covenant , wherewith he was sanctified , an unholy thing , and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace ? For we know
him that hath said , Vengeance belongeth unto me , I will recompense , saith the Lord . And again , The Lord shall judge his people . It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God .” When we understand the magnitude of our salvation and the importance of standing up for Christ in all things , we will better be able to withstand any possible reprimand from earthly sources .
Jude 1:4 : “ For there are certain men crept in unawares , who were before of old ordained to this condemnation , ungodly men , turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness , and denying the only Lord God , and our Lord Jesus Christ .” Evil has crept in from the beginning of time and of man . The world wants to deny
Christ more today than ever before . We must stand and no longer be afraid of what man can do to us , but trust that God is with us . I am quite sure that John did not want to be beheaded . I doubt that Peter wanted to hang upside down on a cross or that Stephen wanted to be stoned to death , but all of them stood for the cause of Christ and His kingdom . They all stood for what was and still is right in the eyes of God . We must do the same ! Amen !
