First , don ’ t get me wrong : this doesn ’ t mean to avoid everything in life ! You can ’ t . However , the Bible instructs us to guard our heart and mind above all else because everything we do flows from it . ( Proverbs 4:23 ) If we don ’ t guard our heart and mind then it is an open door to sin . For example , watching and listening to anything that is ungodly can give Satan a stronghold in your life . You might think that the innocent movie with nudity isn ’ t going to hurt you ? However , that one time watching a movie could also open doors to a pornography addiction . Also , it is not innocent . Satan wants others to think that . It is all part of his plan to deceive . He somehow wants people to think that just because it is on television that it isn ’ t real , but that is a total lie !
Don ’ t be ashamed to talk about God and live out the truth in front of those around you .
Make the choice to be different in this day and age that we live in . The Bible says that we are the salt of the earth and if the salt loses its flavor then how can it be made salty again ? ( Matthew 5:13 ) As Christians , we should always demonstrate salty lives . Our lives should be so salty that it makes others thirsty for God .
It should make them so thirsty that they will not stop until they have what we have and that is the Lord Jesus . Lastly , never ever conform to the pattern of this world , but be transformed by the renewing of your mind . Then you will be able to test and approve what God ’ s will is — his good , pleasing and perfect will . ( Romans 12:2 )
