“ the CEO of our company ”. How sad . Yet it need not be this way . God has set in motion His word and how we should treat one another and what is considered acceptable behavior . This works just as well at work as it does in the home or in the church .
A great example is seen in Matthew 21:12 . Jesus was in the temple , He became furious when He saw how they treated the house of God . The politics that had immerged over time had demonstrated the corruptness of the day . The scales were tipped in the favor of the merchant , the people were charged high amounts for their sacrifices , and on the list , goes on . This place of worship had become a corrupt work place . They were gathering more to make a buck than worship the Lord . Christians are called to a higher behavior . If there is no difference , we look no different than the world . Luke 6:31 gives a ground floor principle that can help as we seek to reach the top and maintain our Christian integrity . “ Treat others the same way you want them to treat you .” It sounds simple and it is . There is nothing wrong with advancement , however if the steps you climb just so happen to be your coworkers back , in the eyes of God this is wrong . In the office setting we work in close quarters . After a while people get to know one other on a corporate level . As a Christian , our goal is to reflect Christ . Too often Christians leave their convictions waiting in the car . We are either to scared or embarrassed to act out our faith in the work place for fear of ridicule . We need not feel this way . Living out our faith in the work place can be done without saying a word .
For example , encouragement is a great tool for the kingdom of God . Whether it is for the loss of a loved one or a coworker going for that big promotion , we can cheer them on . Honestly seeking out the good for our coworkers can open doors . The result of such behavior is respect and trust . And these qualities can be lacking in the work place . Of course , this takes time . However , it is worth the effort . Our consistent behavior will speak volumes . There is no reason why you cannot succeed where God has you .
