P
raying for your children is
probably the most important thing you can do for
them. It is something we should
be doing from before they are
born and never stop. Take a
look at your own life and own
walk with God. It goes through
different seasons, different ups
and downs and if you are like
me you have had times in your
life where you have been living
life away from God. Our children
are the same. They go through
experiences, seasons and trials
just like we do and our prayers
are so important to their safety,
protection of their mind and walk
with Christ during each of these
seasons of their life.
As young children we pray for
spiritual guidance, for us to teach
them how to live without us there
every moment of the day. To
make the right decisions going
forward in life. That they learn
right from wrong. For them to
not be passed down generation
problems that have been
in our family for far too
long. That we ingrain
the foundation of
the gospel and
who Christ is in
them from the
beginning and
they
understand it. We
pray that as
they are learning about the
world, that they
desire to be in the
world but not of it.
We pray for their future,
for their future spouses and
careers
and children.
W e
pray
for
their salvation.
As adolescents we pray for
safety, sound mind, a servant’s
heart, a love for Christ so strong
that they desire his obedience
more than succumbing to peer
pressure. We pray the relationship we have been helping them
build continues when we are no
longer in the room. We pray they
have Godly characteristics and
fruit of the spirit. We pray that as
they learn the ugly parts of the
world that they always remember the promises of Christ and
his beauty. We pray they are
kind to us in their teens, that
we have strength to endure the
trials that may be presented in
those years. We pray for their
salvation.
As they become adults we pray
for security. For them to meet
