Interview with
Brian Wells
“The heart of this
story is about growing respect, trust
and
compassion
the heroes learn to
have for each other,
which forges them
into a fighting team
against far superior
odds. ”
By Clive McLaren
I
would like to introduce
you to Brian Wells, a man
of many talents including
marketing, advertising, and
film producer, director of creative development, television
production and now novelist. If
you watch the Walden Family
Theatre’s ‘Family Movie Night’
on Hallmark, he is the Executive
Producer.
Your family may also have
enjoyed his wholesome, entertaining productions through
any one of 15 movies, specials
or series for Fox, NBC, CBS,
or ABC. Previously he developed branded entertainment
for Microsoft, Proctor & Gamble
Walmart and Pepsi, to name
just a few that earned him in
2014 this accolade from ‘Advertising Age’. “The Top 10 Product Placements of the Last 10
Years”, calling them “the holy
grail of branded entertainment.”
In his spare time Brian is one of
the co-founders of Crossroads
Church, one of the fastest growing Mega interdenominational
churches in the country. He set
up a ministry to help combat
child-trafficking in South-East
Asia, raising $millions so far for
rescue and rehabilitation.
For all of Mark’s varied talents,
he makes it clear that all the
projects he is involved with need
many other skills beside his own,
perhaps another gift he has is as
an inspired collaborationist.
What makes this family man
from Cincinnati so successful?
It seems it is the message that
drives him; getting across Christian values through quality communication is his passion. In his
interview with ‘Christian Cinema’
way back in 2011, he said.
“I have a 15-year-old son and
12-year-old daughter, and I really
care about what kind of stories
they’re learning because it’s
influential on who they are. We
try to develop our films so that a
mom of school-aged kids would
be engaged by them. But also
we want her tweens and teens
t o enjoy the shows as well. It’s
not by accident. We think about
a mom of a school-aged kid, and
a 15-year-old boy – will they be
engaged? Will a 12-year-old girl
enjoy it?”
He is obviously influenced by
men and women who have made
a big difference through their
focused passion, overcoming
huge obstacles and a relentless
determination to win. Perhaps
then it is these qualities that he
wants to instil in his young inspiration- hungry readers.
