It is definitely not business as
usual parenting children today.
Apart from what parents are telling their children, there are many
other voices that are speaking
into their lives as well. It has
thus become a battle for Christian parents all over the world to
instill the right kind of morals and
values in their growing children.
You might have experienced
this. You do your best to bring
up God-fearing children from the
moment they are born. In much
the usual way, you do all the right
things a Christian parent should
do to ensure their children grow
up with the fear of God. Yet somewhere along the line you realize
that there are other forces trying
to acquire their attention as well.
From an early age, a child already
has other things speaking to his
life. This could be through programs he watches on television.
That might go on for a while
before he leaves home to begin
schooling. From there, the voice
of his parents slowly begins to
fade into the background. If we
are not careful as parents, our
children slowly begin to listen
more to others than to us.
One of the best ways for a parent
to be aware of what his/her children are exposed to, is to hold
meaningful conversation with
them. Without ceasing in teaching them in the ways of the
