planetshakers Interview with Joshua Brown and Mitch Wong

Faith Filled Family Magazine is honored to welcome Joshua Brown and Mitch Wong , of Planetshakers . Established in 1997 by the husband and wife team , Russell and Sam Evans , Planetshakers is passionate to see generations worldwide unite together to worship God .
The Dove nominated worship band , released their new album , Overflow , Sept . 30 to the worldwide market through Integrity Music . The project was recorded live at the Planetshakers annual spring conference in Melbourne and features 15 new , original songs that were co-written by the band . Their heart is to see people encounter God , be transformed by his presence and empowered to make a difference in their world .
Tell us , who is Planetshakers ? What role does an individual ’ s relationship with Jesus have to do with becoming a member of the band ? In a word , how was this band created ? Planetshakers is a world wide movement of people passionate to become everything God has created them to be . Planetshakers mission is to empower generations to win generations and over time we have grown into a global movement under the leadership of Pastor Russell Evans , full of people seeking to love the way Jesus loves . Planetshakers is made up of several ministries - the Church , conferences , Bible College , band , missions , television and books . Planetshakers band isn ’ t your typical setup , we are a Church , with campuses all around the world , in Melbourne Australia , Cape Town South Africa , Austin Texas , and soon Singapore and Geneva , Switzerland . The band is just an overflow of what happens at Planetshakers Church each Sunday . For example , at our Melbourne campus we have over 250 people in the Creative Team who serve the Church each Sunday . That ’ s where our band is selected , from all campuses . The greatest prize isn ’ t touring , its serving in our Church . We could play to 100,000 people in Asia one night , fly home the next and be leading a small group from the Church in our living room . It ’ s all about people and how we can best serve , both on and off the stage .
I see the album consist of 15 new original songs that were co-written by the band . What events and or circumstance give you all ideas for each song ? The songs that come out of the Planetshakers are really extensions of what God is doing in the church and in the personal lives of the writers . At the beginning of the year , Ps Russell Evans felt that God ’ s word for the church in 2016 was ‘ overflow ’. In response
