Your bio states that you
purged your possessions and
moved to New York. Was there
a reason for the move? Was it
hard to leave something that
had been part of your life for
so many years?
Let’s see…Well, yes and no.
As you know, change is always
challenging. However, after
twenty five years in the same
neighborhood, at the same
church, etc. change happens.
Our kids grew up, and went
off to University. Two of them
ended up in New York City,
and one is outside of Philadelphia. So my wife and I were,
for the last couple of years,
walking past all of these empty bedrooms and wondering
“What we were doing here?”
Everything was fine. We could
stay here, and it’s not broken.
However, we thought, coming up on our marriage, which
is almost thirty years, that we
could stay here, or we could
set the reset button.
I liken it to getting into your
laptop and having all these
Windows open in tabs. You
just do a hard reset- like you
are going to restart your computer- and that is what we did.
Our house sold pretty quickly.
We were able to just turn over
the reigns of the worship department. As worship pastor, I
was able to hand it over to the
next generation.
