E very day there is a battle being waged. Spiritually there is a war going on around us. As Christians we are standing on the front line, or amidst the trenches, fighting for ourselves and our loved ones. For every situation, the Bible is a great guide to us experiencing victory. In actuality, we already have victory, even though there are moments that make us feel defeated. When we experience failure, hurt, offense, or loss of any kind as humans we tend to question how victorious we really are. The enemy seems to have a grip on some area of our life, and we don’t know how to get free or stay free. However, one of the greatest assets we have as believers is prayer. Prayer when aligned with God’s word not only guides us to victory, but makes that victory more apparent. As a small child I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit at a very early age. In the early stages of learning to pray my parents taught me the traditional things most parents teach their kids. Pray for family, and ask God to bless anyone else in my life. Then after receiving the Holy Spirit there was a change in how I prayed. Around the same time I had begun to pray in the spirit before falling asleep. On occasion if I was restless I would watch TBN. Over time I learned not only how to speak to what troubled me and tell it to go, but I also began praying for the ministers I saw on television. At six years old I truly believed that I was talking to God, and not only did He hear me, but He wanted to answer my prayers.
