What goals were you hoping to accomplish
when you wrote Between Us Girls?
I’ve used devotionals with my girls, but I really
wanted to write something that would do more
than present facts. I wanted a resource that
would draw moms and daughters into fellowship
together over the truths of God’s Word. I hoped
we could talk about God’s truth in a natural, practical way, sharing our thoughts and helping each
other in application. That’s one of the main goals
of the book.
I also wanted to help moms who desire to have
these conversations but get caught up in the busyness of life. The years fly by quickly, and moms
don’t want to miss the opportunities these years
afford to build solid foundations for their daughters, but life sometimes gets in the way! With that
goal in mind, Between Us Girls is simple to use
and requires no prep time. Moms and girls can
just grab the book and their Bibles and they’re set.
My hope is that all the “walks” we take together
throughout the book will train us how to have
gospel conversations about all kinds of topics as
they come up.
probably wouldn’t be that into it…” We’re all prone
to thoughts like this, but as moms, we get to represent God’s faithfulness to our daughters. We get
to show them how great God’s ways are and how
important it is to help each become the women
God’s called us to be. This investment of time
is something we will never regret. Moms, let’s
set aside the time to pursue our daughters and
squeeze all we can out of these precious years
with them.

you. It has been an absolute blessing to talk with

author.
What are your plans for the future?
I want to keep following God wherever He leads.
A big part of that is loving my husband and children and serving my church. But I hope to continue writing as well, and I do have a blog where
I remind myself of the gospel truths I so easily
forget. You can find me at www.reminding-myself.
com.
What is your favorite Bible verse?
One of them is Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord
with all your heart, and do not lean on your own
understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths. Life isn’t
about what makes sense to us, but about trusting in our sovereign, gracious God who does all
things well.
Do you have any advice that you would like to
leave our readers with? Particularly our moms
and daughters?
As a mom myself, I know how easily we can
become discouraged and weary. “Yeah, it would
be good to pursue these conversations with my
daughter,” we think, “but I’m so busy, and she
