T

rish Donohue is the author of Between
Us Girls. Between Us Girls is a wonderful
book that is meant to bring guidance to
women who want to disciple their daughters but don’t know where to start. Each chapter
is divided into four sections: “The Garden,” which
is God’s original plan for a particular issue, “The
Weeds,” which shows how sin has made a mess
of things, “The Hill,” which refers to how Jesus’
work on the cross redeems all things and finally
“The Field,” which is where readers apply the principles learned in day-to-day life. f will take you on
a journey with your daughter that you will never
forget!

It can also be used by any woman who desires to
disciple a younger girl or group of girls.
How did you come up with such a beautiful
cover for the book?
New Growth Press did a great job with the cover,
and it represents the “walks” we take together in
the book: through the garden, the weeds, the hill,
and the field. I love what they’ve done!

What made you decide that you would like to
write?
Besides the fact that I enjoy it, I have a real desire
to help moms and daughters grow closer together
and really pursue God together, so it seemed like
the time was right for a book.

Have you tried this book on your own daughters? If yes, what was the outcome?
I have two daughters who are 11 and 12, and my
plan was to test the chapters on them as I wrote
them. Of course that became difficult to keep up
with. After the book came out, we started going
through it regularly, and I confess I was a little nervous because I knew their opinion of it would tell
me a lot. I was thrilled to discover they love it!
We’ve been having a great time grabbing a little
snack, heading to a quiet place, and sharing and
talking and looking at God’s Word together. It’s
been a huge encouragement seeing the book bear
fruit in my relationship with my own daughters.

Tell us about your book Between Us Girls. Is there
any particular audience or age that this is geared
towards?

Is this the first book that you have had published? If not, what are some of the others?
This is my first book.

This book is intended to guide moms and daughters into real fellowship: sharing thoughts and
experiences, digging into God’s Word, and discussing important issues. Its tone is casual, and it
helps moms have conversations with their daughters that they often want to have but aren’t
sure how to start. I suggest an age range of 7-13

How long have you been a writer?
I’ve always loved to write, and have written articles, blog posts, and taught writing classes for
quite some time, but this is my first book.
