Strength
Over
Stress
By Danielle Foisy
When you are at the point of
praying for strength, you are
usually at the point of exhaustion
and defeat. This is a tough place
to be. When you are in a place of
being burnout and depleted from
the your own worldly ways to get
through, you have to come to a
place where you need to grab
onto God’s rope and hold on for
dear life.
As a Christian, people have
the mentality that life must be
easy because we are saved.
Of course if you have been
walking down this narrow road,
you know how difficult it truly
is, and how much you need
Christ’s rope. The strength to get
through the trials and obstacles
life throws at you is not from you.
Your own personal strength is
just not enough, it is struck with
sin, deceived with distraction,
and plagued with lies from the
enemy. The key is that if we are
going to have the right kind of
strength, it needs to come from
the right source. How do we get
that though?
KNOWLEDGE
2 Corinthians 12:9-10
“But he said to me, “My grace is
sufficient for you, for my power
is made perfect in weakness.”
Therefore I will boast all the more
gladly about my weaknesses, so
that Christ’s power may rest on
me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s
sake, I delight in weaknesses, in
insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I
am weak, then I am strong.”
We need to know who God is and
how powerful he is. We need to
know and believe in this power.
That we believe in his ability to
provide the strength we need is
absolutely crucial to gaining the
strength we are looking for.
