How many times have we watched a courtroom scene and observed this oath taken by witnesses with their right hand on the Bible ? And how many people who have repeated this oath in a court of law before a judge then proceed to break that oath and lie about their role in the case ? Their oath did not coerce them into telling the whole truth , and they often hold no qualms about perjuring themselves .
