I've journaled for almost as long as I remember The first thing that caught my eye first visiting her website, was her warm smile. After reading her stories illustrated with an energetic journaling style, I wanted to know more about Amanda, so I sent her some questions. What was it about journaling that made you feel drawn to it? The first time I read Little Women, I knew I wanted to be a writer. I was only nine years old when Jo March became my role model and inspiration. Around the same time, I started keeping a diary—just typical silly childhood stuff, but it started a pattern of releasing my emotions through writing. As an adult, I let it go for several years, then - 18 - www.faithcrafter.com - I've journaled for almost as long as I remember. I was in 3rd grade when I got my first real diary and started writing. As an adult, I picked the habit back up to deepen my time with God around 2011. It didn't take long to realize how much depth it added. How would you describe your journaling style? My style is best described as smashbooking. It’s kind of an “anything goes” journaling style, mixing writing, art, photos, and more. In what way has journaling impacted your faith/life? Journaling has brought me closer to God. It also gives a faith record, like the memorial stones of Joshua 4. When I look back at my journal, I see the bat tles I’ve fought, and I see how God brought me through them. It’s a record of His faithfulness.
