came back to it when I was looking for a way to deepen my Bible
study time.
When did you start journaling?
I've journaled
for almost as
long as I remember
The first thing that caught my
eye first visiting her website, was
her warm smile. After reading
her stories illustrated with an energetic journaling style, I wanted
to know more about Amanda, so
I sent her some questions.
What was it about journaling
that made you feel drawn to it?
The first time I read Little Women, I knew I wanted to be a writer. I was only nine years old
when Jo March became my role
model and inspiration. Around
the same time, I started keeping
a diary—just typical silly childhood stuff, but it started a pattern of releasing my emotions
through writing. As an adult, I let
it go for several years, then

I've journaled for almost as long
as I remember. I was in 3rd
grade when I got my first real
diary and started writing. As an
adult, I picked the habit back up
to deepen my time with God
around 2011. It didn't take long
to realize how much depth it
added.
How would you describe your
journaling style?
My style is best described as
smashbooking. It’s kind of an
“anything goes” journaling style,
mixing writing, art, photos, and
more.
In what way has journaling impacted your faith/life?
Journaling has brought me closer to God. It also gives a faith
record, like the memorial stones
of Joshua 4. When I look back at
my journal, I see the bat tles I’ve
fought, and I see how God
brought me through them. It’s a
record of His faithfulness.
