Tutorial - Bible Journaling
- Hope Anna is giving some insight on
how to prepare the Bible pages
before painting them so they
become a better base for your
artistic work. All the stencils can
be found on page 42 and 43 of
this magazine.
Prepare your page before painting in
your Bible with your favorite medium. I
have tried a lot of different products and
the one I have chosen to use is Liquitex
matte gel and Liquitex matte medium. I
mixed matte medium and the matte gel
medium in a small container until it got
the consistency of whipped cream.
When my page was dry I painted it and
I choose to color it in two blue shades using Dylusions ink spray for its intense color. I poured a small amount of each color
into two plastic cups, a little paint goes a
long way. I used them to color the page
the same way as you paint with watercolors. While the paint was still wet I sprinkled sea salt on top of it, the salt will soak
up some color and make lovely marks
after it has dried. Let it dry completely
before removing the salt, otherwise it
will smear. I printed out the Owl, the text
frames and cut it out leaving some white
around the motifs and colored them with
Promarkers. I then glued them on the
page and I used white rhinestones pearls
between my text frames.
