We therefore need higher and purer ideals than ever before “All Scripture is given by God. And all Scripture is useful for teaching and for showing people what is wrong in their lives. It is useful for correcting faults and teaching the right way to live. Using the Scriptures, those who serve God will be prepared and will have everything they need to do every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 3. New tasks. New year and new tasks belong together. The spirit of love creates new interests. To realize these may be the big task of the coming year. “The Spirit God gave us does not make us afraid. His Spirit is a source of power and love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7 4. New powers. New tasks require new powers. But these new powers we already possess from the source of our old powers. With the old Hebrew singer we will say, ”All my sources, is in God.” With a strong hand and an outstretched arm, for his steadfast love endures forever. Psalm 136:12 The cleft in the rock Exodus 33:18-23 5. New experiences. With the new year we face new experiences. In attending God’s school, we get new lessons. Our lives need not resemble a monotonous hiking. New days and new experiences. “So don’t remember what happened in earlier times. Don’t think about what happened a long time ago, because I am doing something new! Now you will grow like a new plant. Surely you know this is true. I will even make a road in the desert, and rivers will flow through that dry land.” Isaiah 43:18-19 6. New victories. This coming year as the last one will be a year of battle. Win or perish. May God give us victory on all fronts. The glory of battle will be followed b y the glory of victory. And he who overcomes, is dressed up in the clothes of victory. “Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.” Philippians 4:13 “ New year and new tasks belong together “Everyone who wins the victory will be dressed in white clothes like them. I will not remove their names from the book of life.” Revelation 3:5 7. New answers to prayers. New day and new needs. New needs and new prayers. New prayers and new answers. And so our new year becomes a new prayer year with many new wonderful answers to prayer. “If you believe, you will get anything you ask for in prayer.” Matthew 21:22 - Anna Faith Crafter January 2016 www.faithcrafter.com 29
