Signe Flink - New Hope - My initial thought was that this wonderful bible verse is hard to put on canvas due to the way it is written, but then it hit me, suppose that this is directed at me? The God of hope infuses my faith with joy and serenity and enriches my hopes through the powers of the holy ghost. This thinking delighted me and I thought ‘this is fantastic’. So I wanted my painting to reflect the happiness and the hope conveyed by the scripture . A newborn sun just risen proclaiming a new fantastic day with our lord. Signe is born and raised in the north of Sweden but moved south and is now living in beautiful Västervik with her husband Benny. Signe have drawn and painted all her life and got her first real aquarelle paint box on her 13th birthday. Since then brushes and aquarelle paper always ranked highest on the wish list. Today she is mostly working with acrylic, aquarelle, coal and oil. Beside one year studying arts and crafts on Edelviks folk high school and some aquarelle/art courses, Signe is self tought and diverse in her creativity, she is happy to take on new ways of expression and try out new techniques. “In my artistry I want to conway peace, freedom, beauty, joy and man’s relation with the living God.” Faith Crafter January 2016 www.faithcrafter.com 25
