Epiphany!
Doing the
research for

has given me
an “epiphany
moment”.
‘The word
Epiphany come
from the ancient
Greek, epiphaneia, meaning
“manifestation,
striking appearance”. Having
an epiphany is
generally a term
that is used to
describe an

realization or situation to be understood

lovely days with our family.
For me Epiphany has mostly been
the end mark of Christmas and the
time to throw out the Christmas
tree. For many weeks now I have
read scriptures, sermons and books
about Epiphany and a few days after
Christmas I got my “epiphany moment”, a deeper understanding for
the season.
I have been thinking a lot of the
wise men who traveled to Jerusalem
asking for “He who has been born
King, we have seen His star and
come to worship Him.” Matthew 2:2
How did they know that Jesus
was born, who told them? God? Holy
Spirit? What an amazing faith and
trust in God they must have had to
take on such a journey! I question
myself, if God told me to follow a
star to a country far away, should
I listen and go? I hope that the answer is yes, but to be honest, I don’t
I realized that I had not underknow. What I do know is that I will
stood the whole depth of Epiphany,
keep on taking steps in faith as I
I have always loved Advent and
want my confidence and trust in God
Christmas because to me it is the
to grow deeper. Let us enjoy Epiphseason of “light”. Where I live the
winter is very dark and come Advent any and celebrate a new beginning:
we light Bethlehem stars in our win- “Let light shine out of darkness,
made his light shine in our hearts to
dows, lighting our Advent candlegive us the light of the knowledge of
sticks and it brings hope to a dark
God’s glory displayed in the face of
time of the year. Then Christmas
arrives with the good news of Jesus Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6
