Many rape kits are not processed, due to the lack of funding, thus leaving the
victim exposed to the perpetrator, and the criminal walk free, for crimes against
children are crimes against humanity. We have researched grants Louisiana can
utilize to fund communities, serving child sexual assault families and to ensure
safer communities for children. We understand this is not a one size fits all bill, but
a step in the right direction.
Penalty Laws Include: 1) Provide free DNA testing and processing to child sexual
assault victims.
2) This bill shall go into effect upon the governor’s signature; no later than 90 days
after passage.
In conclusion, we know this bill will benefit children’s lives and the communities
of Louisianan are who support them.
