Dobby Looms are used for small, repeating designs with simple patterning. Unique warp yarns are more common with this form of weaving, and end yarns move as units. Modern Jacquard Harness Jacquard equipped Looms are used for larger repeats, usually up to 32.5cm or even 67.5cm. Very complex patterning is possible and each yarn can be a “free agent”.
