64 Fab*C- First Lady Murphy- with being married, being a Z[ wife, First Lady of Kingdom Church
and a mother. You tend to wear many hats tells us how you handle it? First Lady AM - "I had to find balance early. It is God, my family, then everything else. Anyone who
knows me knows my family is my heart. They are my first ministry. I cannot effectively minister if my
own home and family is not taken care of. I just }v[ take myself too seriously; I'm just a regular
person."
Fab*C-You both are excellent writers, I have read many of our blogs, tell us what inspired you two to
want to share your gift through blogging? First Lady AM - Derek started blogging first, and as I began to share my opinions and different thoughts,
he encouraged me to start one too. I don't get to write as often as I like but I really enjoy it.
Pastor DM - "I began reading a blog by Shaun King, a former pastor from Atlanta Georgia. I realized that
while we differed theologically, I was always inspired after reading it. So I was moved to try my hand at
it. Didn't really think it would do as well as it has, but I aim to encourage and enlighten the readers, and
not just 'preach' at them."
Fab*C- We absolutely love your Kingdom Culture Clothing Co what inspired you to start a T-Shirt
company? Pastor DM - "It was a just an idea that I was too chicken to try until I saw another local designer do it,
and do it well. I thought maybe after a couple of years we could do the same. But after I shared the idea
with Thomas 'Chuck' Price and Charles 'Bamm' Craig, they pushed me into doing it now. Chuck and
Bamm are now my business partners."
The idea for Kingdom Culture as a whole is to express faith through the arts. We are used to music,
dancing, writing, and even poetry. But we wanted to include fashion and visual arts as well.
Fab*C- Do you have any advice for couples in ministry that you would like to share? First Lady AM - "Just keep things in order. Remember that God is the priority. And just stay humble."
Pastor DM - "For anyone in ministry I would say believe in your message without believing your own
hype. At the end of the day I go home, and I'm just 'Murph'. We have to be, or at least become, what we
preach. And for couples, don't spend so much time chasing ministry that you neglect each other.
Minister to each other's needs before you minister to the world."
