Chu’s first day of school by Neil Gaiman & Adam Rex Chu is an adorable little panda who is starting school. His story will humorously provide reassurance to those who may be apprehensive about starting school when they learn about, and laugh at, Chu's experiences on the first day at school. 4. Little School by Beth Norling: A picture book about 20 preschoolers and the fun they have during a busy day at their school. The story goes through all the children’s different preparations for school, what they get up to during the day at Little School, and then their return home. This book is perfect for the child who is starting preschool, nurs- ery school, or daycare and wants to know exactly what to expect. 5. Maisy Goes to Playschool by Lucy Cousins: This interactive book follows Maisy through her day at playgroup. Children can lift flaps and read along with the fun activities such as painting, writing stories, playing. dressing up, doing sums and dancing. 6.Max and Millie Start School by Felicity Brooks A board book which introduces young children to nursery school or playgroup. The book acknowledges that some children are more confident than others in new situations. Millie is excited about going to school but Max is shy and upset about leaving his Mummy.
