Have a healthy, happy summer break with your kids!
T
he end of the school year is quickly
approaching, and kids are gearing up for
another summer break. Although parents share
in this excitement too, there are also challenges that
come with having the kids home all summer.
Lack of daily routines during the summer can leave
kids feeling “bored,” and they can end up lounging
around snacking or sitting in front of the TV or
computer. However, summer break can be a great
opportunity for parents to help kids set healthy
habits—including setting a schedule.
Additionally, parents can involve kids in meal
preparation, such as making lunch and/or dinner.
For some kids, helping with meal prep is worse than
doing homework, but other kids really enjoy it. For
kids who don’t have an interest in helping out in the
kitchen, introduce them to some healthy, tasty treats
and snacks by checking out and using the following
yummy recipes.
