and I could not get them to stop and I thought it was a lost cause at my age. I started taking collagen on a regular basis and they stopped peeling.” Another favorite? “Hyaluronic acid is also really good for your skin and helps you stay hydrated, supple, and luminescent,” she affirms. “This is only the tip of the iceberg for me, I'm a big believer in vitamins and supplements because I've seen them work,” she concludes. A balanced approach to life has helped the critically-acclaimed actress stay at the top of her game after so many years. The storyline for her recent project, The Last Laugh, with streaming mammoth Netflix circles around the idea of letting the past go. It encourages audiences to embrace their present, regardless of what stage in life they find themselves. The project gifted MacDowell many lessons, but the most poignant one is that age is not something one should conform to. In her eyes, age is something that continues to give us unlimited possibilities, “Remember to take your shoes off and feel the ground beneath your feet. It's ok to be a free spirit at any age. Taking chances throughout your life is the only way you will find out what you're capable of.” These days, Andie’s schedule is jam packed. She is reuniting with her old Four Weddings and a Funeral cast for a special program benefiting Red Nose Day, a campaign to end child poverty. She considers it a privilege to be a part of the campaign, “The power of Red Nose Day is helping with education, medical services, homelessness and feeding hungry children. All done with joy and love.” She is also on the board of the National Forest Foundation and takes pride in getting to work with this great group of people who maintain open lands for wildlife. “Our national forests are a vital part of our ecosystem, and I am thankful for this connection in every way,” she concludes. Although she isn’t ready to slow-down yet, don’t expect her to hurry into anything either, “I'm not rushing life because I'm really happy in the present moment, but I hope my life continues to blossom and expand.” On the horizon for her? “Beautiful relationships, a calm peaceful home, and work that feels creative. To continue to be an advocate for our environment and connect with people that are giving back so that I am helping others and being useful.” That is a full plate only Andie MacDowell knows how to devour.
