Garden of Life ® Supports Track and Field Athletes Nationwide with Five-Year Exclusive USATF Partnership Garden of Life is officially off to the races! As the #1 selling protein of choice for amateur and professional triathletes, marathon runners, weekend warriors and Ironman competitors for years, we’ve solidified our commitment within the track and field community by signing a five-year exclusive sponsorship agreement with USA Track & Field (USATF). As the exclusive provider of protein bars, protein powders and shakes, and probiotics for USATF, we kicked off the partnership in July with athletes receiving products at the Olympic trials in Eugene, Oregon, training camp in Houston and at the Olympic Games in Rio. “We’re proud to be an American company and show our support for all members of USATF and Team USA,” said Garden of Life president Brian Ray. “We’re excited to partner with USATF because their commitment and dedication to track and field perfectly complements our mission of Empowering Extraordinary Health ® .” USATF is the National Governing Body for track and field, long-distance running and race walking in the United States. It encompasses the world’s oldest organized sports, some of the most-watched events of Olympic broadcasts, the country’s number one high school and junior high school participatory sport and more than 30 million adult runners in the United States. In addition to the 2016 Olympics in Rio and 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, select Garden of Life products will be available to athletes year-around at hundreds of USATF qualifying events, National Team Training Camps, National Team kits and athlete lounges. Ray added that all 130,000 USATF members will have access to exclusive discounts as well. “By joining forces with USATF, we saw an opportunity to respond to a growing need for ‘clean,’ safe, and reliable proteins,” he said. “Although the definition of clean is not uniform in the marketplace, for Garden of Life it means products grown organically without the use of toxic pesticides, fertilizers, growth hormones, antibiotics or genetically modified organisms (GMOs). This is why our standard for clean has always been Certified USDA Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified and Informed-Choice Certified clean for sport.” USATF CEO Max Siegel said the organization is proud to welcome Garden of Life into its partner family and into the national governing body space. “Our partnership will help ensure that our athletes have access to healthy, organic protein and probiotics, especially during critical times when they are traveling internationally with our National Teams.” Vol 28 • Extraordinary Health ™ 13
