Reading is one of the most important activities in the human life; it is mainlybased in the comprehension of a text by a language. This action should not be given only in a textual level, but developing the role of educators, it can be taken to a deeper one.

What is people’s main thought about reading?

When teachers give a text to their students, they can see immediately their apathy to it. Firstly, because it is not something they like. There’s that thought where people use to say, “If it’s old, then it’s boring”and partly, it is their teachers’ fault. They reach the level where they consider it mandatory and the only activities they can do to resist this is making basic questions, which may take them to have an opinion and to create concepts, and not just to take a statement as an absolute truth and end up being unhelpful.

“It is not possible to read without writing nor writing without reading”, teachers say. I believe there isn’t any critical thought without reading and a reading without a critical thought. This would help in big dimensions to avoid procrastination. We should only leave the print page, fly with the imagination far away, and furthermore, create debates, where students can see it as a place where they can express their ideas helping one another to form a solid one. Moreover, that could end up being the best solution teachers have been looking for, to make their students reach the inferential level creating relations with their environment and their reality based on the text.

As John Locke said: “Reading furnishes the mind only with materials of knowledge; it is thinking that makes what we read ours.”Nevertheless, it is the educators’ duty to give their students the ways to make them express in order to not to leave everything in a textual level.
