MADEXXXX PUBLISHER’S LETTER Over the years, I have embraced the comfort of my Southern roots while reaching outside of what is familiar through international travel. My interest in self-discovery and cultural study has led me to faraway destinations around the world from South American rainforests to the southernmost tip of Africa. The rich culture, breathtaking views and delicious cuisine that the world has to offer not only can stimulate our senses but can broaden our perspectives. Studying foreign traditions has the power to lift limitations that our local upbringing may have embedded in us. Understanding someone far different than the neighborhoods we’ve grown from, opens our minds to new perspectives and philosophies. The people that we meet along the way can shape our outlook and ultimately, our decisions. By constantly learning from a global perspective, we can discover, spark and implement ideas that can change the world. One thing I know for sure is that close human connection improves the human experience. By way of good people, each trip left me feeling more connected to a higher purpose - which may just be the plug for impact and upliftment in the global community. Your inner world is an exact reflection your outer reality.” - Phylicia Rashad But, before we travel to far and distant places, we must challenge ourselves to expand the reach of our mind. The most important trip we can take is the one where we explore the gems within ourselves. The search to find the truth within can unlock new beginnings and release old boundaries and limitations. What is your truth and what will you take from it to help the world? I am still on my quest to learning more about my truth, and using my discovery for positive global impact. Cheers, Kris D.
