MADEXXXX Finding joy in the journey is one of the ultimate lessons in life. - S anaa L athan really excited about it. And I start shooting that in about a month. It’s not about issues, it’s about the story and if there can be a message in that story, then great. MADE: We live in a time where everyone wants success overnight, but you’ve shown us through your career that steady really does win the race. What advice would you give to our readers about moving at your own pace and coming up with your own definition of success? SL: That’s a great question. I really look at every life as a snowflake. Just like every person is a snowflake. Every person is different and every life path is different. One of the things that I learned is that you cannot compare yourself to another human being. You have to run your own race. Comparing yourself to others will only bring you unhappiness. Finding joy in the moment and finding joy in the journey is one of the ultimate lessons in life. Even when you arrive to whatever you think you want, then you’re there and it’s over. And then you have to have another goal, so you might as well be happy along the way because whatever you think is going to make you happy once you get there, then once you have it, you’ll be happy for like five minutes. My belief is really living life fully while you’re chasing your dreams. Surround yourself with friends and family, do fun things, take care of yourself and at the same time chase those dreams. The joy will come if you really just have fun in the now. I’m a big believer of just being in the moment. And the more I do that, the happier I feel.
