HOTELS & INNS // THE SELECTION Llangoed Hall Llyswen, Brecon, Powys LD3 0YP A grand, elegant and historic country house hotel situated in the Wye Valley. The accommodation is priced in accordance to the size of the room and the view. King size, twin and four-poster beds are available. The hotel boasts a fine art collection and 17 acres of landscaped gardens. A sumptuous fine dining experience is delivered by Head Chef, Nick Brodie and a dedicated team. Thoughtful touches complete your stay, such as the complimentary decanter of sherry, which served perfectly as a nightcap, well, it’s rude not to. Llangoed is a wonderful experience and it’s worth noting that it only missed out on our Accolade, on this occasion, by the very narrowest of margins. VISIT THE WEBSITE The Felin Fach Griffin Felin Fach, Brecon LD3 0UB An incredibly charming dining pub with rooms located between The Black Mountains and The Brecon Beacons. There are seven rooms (all en-suite) available and it is advisable to book ahead. Seasonal menus, local produce, local beer, log fires, dog friendly... we could go on, but suffice to say, pubs with rooms don’t come much better. For dinner you could expect Helford crab, pickled apple and coriander to start and rib-eye of Welsh beef, polenta & parmesan fritters, artichokes and chimichurri for main. The Felin Fach Griffin is very popular with locals, who will make you feel instantly at home and leave you wishing that your local was just like this. VISIT THE WEBSITE 48 EXPLORER WALES // GUIDE
