The St . David ’ s Hotel & Spa rises high in a tower of glass and steel , overlooking Cardiff Bay , next to the Cardiff Bay Wetlands Reserve .
The hotel is a few minutes away from the centre of Cardiff , and its waterfront location offers a welcomed rest at the end of a day exploring the city .
There are 142 rooms available , from a Standard King , to a Deluxe Master Suite measuring 54 sq m .
Stay for dinner and you may find pan fried scallops , celeriac puree , black pudding and panchetta to start , with roast duck breast , fondant potato , honey roasted fig , purple sprouted broccoli and a cherry jus for main course .
Completing the complex is a bar / lounge , fitness centre , pool and a spa , where you can choose from a very comprehensive choice of treatments .
We opted for a junior suite , which proved to be good value , just be sure to allow time to sit out on either of the two balconies to enjoy the view , it is terrific .
We were very impressed by the high standard of service provided by the team at St . David ’ s Hotel .
