The Penderyn Madeira Single Malt , their flagship whisky , or ‘ wysgi ’ is distilled in a copper pot still , matured in bourbon barrels ( made of wood from sustainable American white oak forests ) and finished in Madeira wine casks and bottled at premium strength . The result is a whisky which is smooth , light in character and wonderfully golden in colour .
Penderyn produce less whisky in a year than many distilleries produce in a single day , and in the words of Penderyn , it ’ s as rare as Welsh gold .
The team can indeed be proud that they have achieved their golden vision , dreamt up those years ago . We hope they keep on dreaming .
