Italy Supplement ITALIAN ORGANISERS AS PARTNERS FOR TRADE SHOWS WORLDWIDE PRESIDENT, CFI - INDUSTRIAL TRADESHOW COMMITTEE MASSIMO GOLDONI CFI - Industrial Trade Fairs Committee is the Italian Association of Tradeshow organisers. The association is based in Milan and counts about thirty members related to the major international trade fairs organised in Italy. Most of the members are connected to the industrial association 8 Issue 2 2018 The main sectors of the Italian manufacturing refer to fashion, food and hospitality, furniture and design, machine tools and technologies, and automotive. They all represent the excellence and the potential of the Made in Italy. Most of Italian companies are SMEs. In the traditional manufacturing sectors, SMEs as classifi ed by the EU are about 100,000, but in addition there are about 1.5 million micro enterprises. Specialised trade shows represent the irreplaceable tool for contacting the global market for these companies. Italian companies exhibit at many tradeshows, both in Italy and abroad. About 90,000 participations of Italian exhibitors have been registered at Italian international trade shows in 2017; exhibit participation abroad of Italian companies are among the most numerous in all countries: i.e. in the German trade shows, Italian exhibitors were more than 13,000 in 2017. Italian companies always distinguish for the style and the passion that they put into the presentations of their products and skills in the stands. Our organisers are specialised by sector or even niche; most of them are connected to the Associations of national and European producers. Italian tradeshows are the expressions of the Italian high specialisation in manufacturing, thus they differ from more generalist international models. Our organiers also have a wide knowledge of the main distribution and purchase channels, both foreign and Italian, precisely because our tradeshows have always addressed also to foreign buyers. In the case of the manufacturing sectors, the events organized in Italy see the presence of the leading international producers, producers who also make great events. Among our associates, there are for example PittiUomo Florence, Micam Milan, Lineapelle Milan, MIDO Milan, Cibus Parma, Vinitaly Verona, Salone del Mobile Milan, Cersaie Bologna, Salone Nautico Genova, EICMA Milan, BIMU Milan, EIMA Bologna. Reasons of space prevent me from mentioning the many other important events with a strong international impact. w w w.exhibitionworld.co.uk
