Italy Supplement BOLOGNAFIERE WIDEN ITS NETWORK TOWARDS EAST AND WEST PRESIDENT, BOLOGNAFIERE, GIANPIERO CALZOLARI MICHAEL DUCK Executive vice president UBM ASIA The BolognaFiere fi gures for 2017 are important as they highlight the solidity of the Group and provide an essential contribution to the drafting of the company’s New Development Plan. The plan forecasts revenues for 2020 of 200m Euros through a series of acquisitions, the increase in traditional activities and the development of new business. After having renewed all of the multi-year contracts with the leading fair organisers, we are now focusing on further development, our events on the international circuits, above all in the leading sectors of our activities, beginning with COSMOPROF. The COSMOPROF network is the leading global platform in the sector of cosmetics and beauty. 2017 saw the launch of the new events Beleza y Salud in Bogotà, Columbia, and Iran Beauty & Clean in Tehran. This year will see further additions to the line up, such as the preview w w w.exhibitionworld.co.uk of Cosmoprof India in Mumbai and the launch of the commercial management of events in Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia. Another two events concern the publishing sector. The fi rst is the launch of the initiative The New York Rights Fair, from 30th May to 1st June in Manhattan, which BolognaFiere has organised together with strategic partners such as Publishers Weekly (PW) and Combined Book Exhibit. The second is the closure of an agreement with the company Shanghai XinHua Distribution Group Co. Ltd. to co-organise the China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair (CCBF) beginning with the 2018 edition. The event will be held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. With these new initiatives, BolognaFiere will further integrate its development strategies into the market for professional events in publishing, by creating events in the two leading global markets: China and the U SA. BolognaFiere has also developed its exhibition model for other leading global events and it has demonstrated its strategic value for both exhibiting companies and international operators. We have been partnering with BolognaFiere for over 23 years and we organise together Cosmoprof Asia in Hong Kong. The show takes place every November and is split across two venues: HKEC and Asia World Expo. Cosmoprof Asia is now the most important International Trade show for the Cosmetic world in the entire Asia Pacifi c region and in 2017 reached almost 110.000 sqm of exhibition space with 2877 exhibitors from 54 different countries. The successful partnership between UBM and BolognaFiere will also broaden the scope this year, with the launch of Cosmoprof India, which is to be held in Mumbai on September 10th and 11th.
