Thailand has achieved top ASEAN ranking in UFI for net space sold for 14 consecutive years since 2004. Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has played a role in perpetuating the successful growth in exhibitions. It has been able to secure 11% growth of new shows as of the third quarter of its 2018 financial year, while new organizers bringing their shows to Thailand has increased by 70%. To strengthen its role, the bureau will be hosting the 86th UFI Global Congress in November 2019 in Bangkok. The country offers unparalleled trade flow and market access to the region, including the burgeoning CLMV region, and enthusiastic traders in China. The proximity to all areas of Asia makes Thailand an undisputed business hub, and sees almost 1.4 million international visitors flying in on 8,000 flights per week in 2017. TCEB-supported exhibitions in 2017 experienced a remarkable 120% growth of trade visitors from ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), while trade visitors from CLMV region posted an impressive growth rate of 142%. Both market reach and ease of access has Thailand ranking 26th in the Doing Business 2018, or a jump of 20 places, from 46th in 2017, as reported by the World Bank.
