Global Snapshot Global snapshot EW explores the highlights and goings-on circling the global exhibitions industry Singapore - Asian travel trade show ITB Asia is set to focus on the US$180bn Muslim travel market for its 2018 edition, taking place from 17-19 October at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Marina Bay Sands. The show has partnered with CrescentRating and Halal Trip for the Halal in Travel summit, which is now in its third year. Its key theme will be ‘Innovation & Technology in the Muslim Travel Space’. ITB Asia will also be launching a newly dedicated Muslim Travel Hub and Pavilion, hosting panel discussions throughout the three days of the event. Nuremberg - NurnbergMesse has announced that the German Government’s Digital Summit will be held at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 3-4 December 2018. The event will focus on artifi cial intelligence, and will be accompanied by two other events at the same venue: the Bitkom reception and Bitkom Blockchain Business Summit. The Digital Summit is a key platform for collaboration between stakeholders from politics, business, science, trade unions and civil society, to shape digital transformation. Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel and several members of her cabinet attended last year’s summit. 8 Issue 5 2018 Las Vegas - IMEX America has announced that ‘Legacy’ will be the IMEX Talking Point for its 2018 event, taking place in Las Vegas from 16-18 October. The theme will come to life through a series of activities including a major research report, a keynote presentation, education sessions and a wall of inspiring legacy stories on the show fl oor. These stories and case studies will be provided by exhibitors, delegates and IMEX staff as a way to inspire attendees with even more legacy ideas. Abu Dhabi - Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) has renewed a landmark MoU with key associations, in order to promote the city as a hub for world-class healthcare services. ADNEC is working alongside the Emirates Medical Association and the Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau, with the aim of increasing the number of international events and exhibitions held in Abu Dhabi.
