30 UNDER THIRTY Rebecca Sawyer Event manager, Completely Events Nomination: “Over her five years at Completely Events Rebecca has built a huge rapport with our clients in the retail sector, she is the face of the London show with the knowledge of the sector to back it up. Rebecca single-handedly sells out the London shows and also manages the logistics for all the events Completely Group runs throughout Europe.” In the five years’ time: I see myself still working for Completely Events. I see us growing into a large team, organising over 20-plus events a year. I see the events growing into other countries and sectors. Allison Schmidt Client service manager, Poken | GES Nomination: “Allison has worked with Poken for four years. In this time, she has shown tremendous dedication and excelled in every aspect of her role. As a result of her dedication and hard work, Allison is in charge of handling the most challenging clients and projects including the SelectUSA Investment Summit, organised by the US Chamber of Commerce.” In five years’ time: I’ll be more involved in the product management side of event tech. My knowledge of technology, software, and events will help me develop new innovative products to help the data intelligence side of events. Alexandra Slater Senior operations executive, CloserStill Media Nomination: “The first event that Alexandra led was 15,000sqm, when most people begin with events half that size. Unsurprisingly, she excelled, taking real ownership and delivering a great looking, smooth running event.” In five years’ time: I hope to be leading at least four exhibitions a year, as well as heading up a team of bright, eager individuals which I can pass my theoretical or practical understanding of the exhibition world to. I would like to build on existing relationships I have within the events industry to make the next five years monumental. Gital Tete COO, MCM Expo Group Nomination: “Gital is a force to be reckoned with. She is tenacious. She doesn’t take no for an answer but she is also a big creative kid. Her sense of humour matches her drive, honesty and motivation to get the best out of the company and the people she works with. She is a role model, not only for the next generation of event profs, but also for the women in the industry.” In five years’ time: I will still believe in creating that visitor experience. I will also have bought MCM and will have grown it to be a really successful company, working on a global level taking over the world with pop culture. exhibitionnews.co.uk | 2017 21
