Pure London welcomes Moda Gent for 2019 Fashion festival Pure London has announced that the menswear section of Moda, Moda Gent, will re-locate to Pure London for the 2019 show. Pure London takes place at Olympia London from the 10-12 February 2019. The trade fashion event offers buyers the opportunity to discover collections launching for the season ahead. The move comes following the sale of Pure London to the ITE Group, and aims to present a stronger menswear offering in London. Adam Gough, head of menswear at Pure London says: “We are excited to welcome Moda Gent to Pure Man from next season. With the menswear market projected to grow by 30 per cenr to £15bn by 2021, the re-location of Moda Gent will give buyers more choice and a platform to discover mid to high-end menswear brands, emerging designers, trend- led designs, back-to-basics essentials, accessories and footwear all under one roof.” Venue announced for EN Indy Awards The EN Indy Awards, a new event celebrating the very best independent organisers operating in the UK, will take place on 2 November at the Honourable Artillery Company in London. The new awards are open to organising companies with an annual turnover of less than £7.5m per annum, or larger companies for whom events contribute less than £7.5m per annum. EN editor Nicola Macdonald commented: “With the EN Indy Awards we aim to provide a forum for independent organisers to compete on equal terms and to highlight their outstanding events, along with the talented individuals who bring them to life.” AEO confirms new chair The AEO Council has officially elected Austen Hawkins, managing director of f2f events, as the next chair of the Association of Event Organisers (AEO). The election, which took place at the AEO Council meeting on 5 September in Brighton, also sees Darren Johnson, chief executive officer of Reed Exhibitions UK, become vice chair. Former chair Damion Angus will now assume the role of past chair for the forthcoming year. Blitz and Glisser announce partnership ESSA launches ‘Futures Focus’ board Blitz, a GES company, has announced a strategic alliance with audience engagement and event analytics platform Glisser. Glisser, based in London and New York, and Blitz, the technical event production arm of GES, will collaborate on delivering a world- class audience participation and engagement solution to the Blitz client base. Blitz has already deployed Glisser’s complete audience participation platform – i ncluding live slide sharing, integrated live polling, audience Q&A, and social media walls – for a number of customers. This agreement will see Glisser’s audience engagement and analytics solution delivered and managed by Blitz’s in-house team of technical experts.
