EDITOR’S LETTER SILLY SEASON A fter a long and hot summer, the events industry is back with a bang. At this time of year it’s even more gratifying that event profs are eager to take the time out from their hectic schedules to attend events like the EN Roundtables and EN Race Day and truly engage with the wider industry. And, speaking of engaging with the industry, this month’s cover feature (p22) is all about our relationship with government. While progress may be slow, the relevant government bodies, along with VisitBritain, are more eager to work with us than ever, and I hope industry is able to make the most of this opportunity. Elsewhere in the issue it’s exciting times for the Granite City as The Event Complex Aberdeen (TECA) gears up for its launch in 2019. It’s been some time since northeast Scotland had the spotlight, and we’ll be watching this venue with interest. Finally, as I write this event wellbeing week is drawing to a close, and if you’re in a particularly stressful period in your events calendar I hope you’re able to take the time to look after yourself too.
