For all the latest industry news visit: exhibitionnews.co.uk AEO and SISO launch Independent Organiser Network The Association of Event Organisers (AEO) and the Society of Independent Show Organisers (SISO) have entered into a reciprocity agreement following a meeting between their members last month. SISO is dedicated to meeting the needs of for-profi t show organisers through networking, exchange of ideas and learning from each other. The agreement sees both organisations supporting each other with information exchange, research insight and mutual discounts for members to attend association events. In addition, it sees the formation of a new special interest group: the ‘Independent Organiser Network’ (ION). ION is a group formed of AEO and SISO commercial event organiser members who operate on a global basis. It will see the pure play ‘for profi t’ organisations coming together to share experiences, opportunities and challenges for the benefi t of the industry. Chris Skeith, chief executive of AEO, said: “SISO is a much respected organisation, and we share many members who have common interests and challenges. The partnership with SISO will see us extend collaborations with other associations throughout the world to help us deliver more value to our members.” Facebook launches ticket buying facility Facebook has teamed up with Eventbrite to launch a new event discovery and ticket buying facility in the UK. Event attendees will now be able to buy tickets directly from Facebook, without having to leave the site. Yoav Zeevi, product manager, Facebook Events Ticketing said: “Our focus with ticketing on Facebook is to give people an easier way to attend the events that interest them and make selling tickets easier for our partners, lik e Eventbrite. We’ve gotten great feedback from our partners that posting on Facebook helps them drive sales and attendance.” Multiplay launches event hardware rental arm Mutiplay, organiser of events such as MineCon, Insomnia and BRICKLIVE, has announced the launch of Multiplay Rentals, its new event hardware rental arm. The company will now offer a full range of services to facilitate large-scale events, from hardware rental and event logistics to broadcast solutions and complete event management. EW launches Global Exhibitions Day Awards First fi ve shows confi rmed for Farnborough National Pet Show, Homebuilding & Renovating and more have been confi rmed by Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre, which will open in early 2018. The venue will welcome: • Southern Manufacturing – February 2018 • Security & Policing – March 2018 • Fishing Show ‘The Big One’ – March 2018 • National Pet Show – May 2018 • Homebuilding & Renovating – January 2019 All fi ve shows will be taking place in the all-new Hall 1. The National Pet Show will be moving venue from ExCeL London for 2018, while the Homebuilding & Renovating show will be including Farnborough on its roster of venues in early 2019. Michael Watton, Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre venue director said: “Getting these fi rst shows confi rmed for the new venue is a major milestone for all of us here at Farnborough International. “They prove how versatile this new space will be and how it’s advanced technology will bring conferences, meetings and events to life in these wonderful new spaces.
