On 5 and 6 July 2018, IOB organises the conference
“Governance, Peace and Development in Burundi”. The
conference will bring together researchers from different social
science disciplines to present and discuss academic research
related to Burundi.

This summer, the University of Antwerp offers
several highly qualitative courses within the areas
of excellence of the University of Antwerp and its
partners. Summer school topics cover almost all
disciplines offered at the University of Antwerp,
ranging from health sciences over design sciences
to social sciences. The target group varies
between summer schools and may consist of
students, researchers or working professionals.
On Monday 18 June 2018 (9-5.30 p.m.) IOB is
hosting a one-day seminar on “Decolonizing
and mixing research approaches and methods”.
The seminar will provide participants with
epistemological and methodological insights
into the ‘third paradigm’ and the ‘decolonization
