W
elcome to the first issue of EVOLVE 2017. We are pleased to have
one year of this magazine, which many call a resource, under
our belts. The staff, editorial board, contributing writers and
membership have combined their passion to continually provide a slightly
different perspective on business which seems to fit the exciting times our area
is experiencing.
With an influx of capital investment and an increased innovative spirit,
EVOLVE strives to tell the story of and to compliment all the area’s growth and
advancement. As a matter of fact, when we chose the name of the magazine,
EVOLVE, we had no idea how truly fitting this name would be. As you know
Florida, and even more relevant, Daytona Beach and the surrounding areas
have been targeted as places to watch, places from which most growth will
come, and as places on the edge of innovation leadership in the country.
Not only are new businesses important to our community but support of
our current businesses must also be maintained. In this issue we feature some
of our 450 manufacturers who call Volusia County home. From mattresses to
key lime pies, our community is strong in manufacturing and providing jobs
for many of our residents. We would be remiss if we did not mention that Jayne
Fifer, President and CEO of the Volusia Manufacturers Association (VMA) is
largely responsible for focusing and leading the VMA’s membership to build a
healthier business environment through endless promotion, collaboration and a
solid strategic plan. Here’s to Jayne!
As the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce, we are pleased to be
on a team with the County, Team Volusia, The CEO Alliance, our educational
institutions and other economic development organizations that are
dedicated to sustained success, business growth, and quality of life in these
exciting times.
Finally, we wish to thank our membership for supporting EVOLVE with
advertising and for their willingness to provide content to make EVOLVE a
valued publication for the leadership of our business community.
